Sans with his new power Stayed in the fight. However, with enough time the human managed to kill Flowey and Asgore, and landing the one hit on Sans. However, thanks to his new soul power, he survived it. This made Frisk so mad that they quit and lost their determination to continue, and thus he was left alone.
Biography[]
UnderLaw is a simple AU. The human started a genocide run, taking out everyone. Finally, they get to Sans. The Judge. Their battle begun, a slew of deaths, and reloading, and trying again. As each death came to pass, Sans could see the human getting further. Closer. Almost as if Frisk was death itself, impending doom. He fought, with all his might. However, Sans was not the only one starting to see the human get closer. Flowey, observed this match. He witnessed something horrific. The smiley trashbag whom had killed him over and over, couldn't hold frisk off forever. In light of this, Flowey did something drastic. He took a human soul, he convinced Asgore, and he joined the fight.
What was surprising, was that the human soul was not for him, but for Sans. Giving it to him, the soul of Justice, it powered him up visibly. He looked...taller? With his new power, his untapped potential, he fought even harder then he thought possible. The battle waged on, for possibly days. But even so, Sans and Flowey could both sense something. The impending, inevitable death, still coming. Frisk, getting closer. When Sans saw that red slash, he thought his life was over. But as it connected, he felt nothing. It did not connect with him, for Asgore had stepped in front of it instead. As Asgore fell, Flowey took personal offense. However, it wasn't long before Frisk managed to defeat Flowey as well.
Finally, a tired, exhausted Sans the Skeleton. The easiest enemy in the game. As he knelt, panting. He closes his eyes, exhausted by the fight. He knew his fate, he accepted it. When the knife came down on top of his head, it sliced down his head to his eye...and got stuck. The pain was immense, but as his health bar flashed in front of him, he saw it. He was not dead. The human soul had powered him to an extent of being able to survive the attack. As the human looked at him, their rage and anger, making them pant even more than Sans, a flurry of bones exploded from the ground, and killed Frisk instantly.
Unbeknownst to Sans, the human, controlling this every action, did the unthinkable. They quit. Frisks determination ran out. A mix of...guilt, frustration, and apathy.. They left. Their soul shattered. Sans waited for the load. For the whole battle to start again... but it did not. Sans stood, looking at the hall before him. Blood, dust, tears, sweat. He laughed for a moment... he had won. until he realized what this really meant. No more resets. Papyrus, Toriel, Asgore, Flowey, Grillby, Undyne, Mettaton, Alphys, Doggo, Greater Dog, Burger pants.... gone. For good.
Sans, did not know what to do. He went home. Managed to eat some food, but the strain of the battle, and pushing himself to the absolute limit, made the scar from the knife permeant. Poetic, he thought. Getting a scar just like his father, and it costing him everything. It was in this moment he remembered his father. The original royal scientist. He still had some of his things. Sans did not want to forget him... He peeled off his ruined blue sweater and tossed it to the ground. It didn't fit him anymore anyways. Taking from the closet, a grey trench coat, his fathers favorite. Wrapping himself in it, he felt...warm. He could almost remember papyrus hugging him.
The next day, waking up with bags under his eyes from crying, he walked around. Trying to think of what he could do. What he should do. Is there anything that can be done? Walking around, entering empty homes, he found a pair of pants. Pant versions of his shorts. He decided to wear it. His socks getting ruined from the blood and dust, his favorite slippers too. After walking endlessly he found himself standing in front of Papyrus' room. He dare not go in. He drags his body back to his room, and pulls out a box. A set of brown slippers he gave to papyrus. Papyrus denied the present, as slippers were for lazybones, he would say. The slippers were supposed to be red, but the poor monster who made them was color blind and made them brown instead. He chuckled to himself, remembering when they arrived.
Rolling up his pant legs, slipping on his slippers. It had been 3 years since everyone died. He had done some minor testing. He snaps, and ignited a yellow portal in front of him. he has no clue where it goes, or if it goes anywhere and not just damn him to the void. He steps through. It took him to another universe called tofukutale. A world consisting of characters from none of the original cast. Sans, able to see their stats and how many they have killed and hurt, saw that they all had, and went ballistic. His sense of justice took over, and he killed them all.
At first... he felt horrified by what he had done. He lost it at the mere sight of high stats, but only after he sat down, he heard a voice in his head. A voice telling him it was completely justified. Although he didn't want to agree, he could feel that the voice was right. Or at least...he felt it was right. The feeling of dishing out justice... it started to envelope his soul entirely. It was in that moment the power he kept concealed inside him exploded into magical yellow chains. He looked at himself, the chains. he dubbed himself "Judge!Sans". The multiverses final Judge. The feeling altering his mind, and making him tunnel vision. His sense of justice becoming overwhelming. He decided he would travel the multiverse and bring justice to as many worlds as he could.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
Judge!Sans in his first unchanged au form, was Classic Sans. Blue hoodie, black shorts, white shirt, pink slippers. However, after merging with the soul, and wandering alone in his universe, his appearance changed.
Due to the last hit, he has a slice down the front of his skull on his right side, that tracks down to his right eye. He is missing an eyelight in that eye for that reason. He has his yellow power eye flaired up almost constantly, and only ever depowers when he is "off duty", his expression for when he isn't Judging people. He lacks a blue eye, as it has been replaced by the yellow one. Otherwise he is slightly taller than the average Sans, due to his posture and new power making him taller.
Judge wears a dark grey trench coat with a collar. It belonged to his Father Dr W.D. Gaster. Otherwise he wears a White shirt under that, and a pair of black pants with two white stripes on either leg, that he rolls up to below his knee. He classically also wears brown slippers that he had actually gifted to papyrus, but papyrus did not want them. However, Judge has also been seen wearing boots on occasion if he knows he is going into a difficult battle.
Personality[]
Judge!Sans is twisted not evil. He has good qualities, and is very similar to the classic sans we all know and love. Telling puns, making jokes, being very laid back overall. However, he has plenty of bad traits as well. The slice to his head affected him a little bit, as well as the immense feeling of Justice and loneliness he gained from being alone.
He lacks empathy, is prone to manic rage episodes, and likes to antagonize people he fights. Despite this, he almost constantly holds back his own power, as he wants fights to be interesting. His overwhelming sense of Justice, granted by his merged soul also makes him antsy if he doesn't actually Judge people. He likes to kill, but he is able to hold back his urges. Only killing if the people "deserve it" as he deems via their kill count or unwillingness to change.
Abilities[]
- Bone Manipulation & Summoning: Allows Judge to summon and manipulate magical bones. They can be various shapes and sizes, and two different states, like blue, and orange. Blue pass though you if you dont move, and orange do the exact opposite.
- Soul Magic: From a distance, he can turn someones soul Blue, which allows him to control their gravity. When his chains touch somebody with a soul, it induces a special darker yellow state, which makes you extremely heavy, almost unable to even stand, and your soul is binded to the chains, so you cannot change locations either through teleportation or via other means.
- Gaster Blasters: Judge!Sans has 3 different kinds of Blasters. The Gaster Blaster, is a large floating animal skull that shoots a beat of yellow energy, while carrying Sans's yellow eye. The Chain Blaster appears the same but shoots 2 dozen chains instead of a beam, which are each individually controlled by Judge. Finally, the Jury Blaster carries Judges token head slice, and yellow eye, and is as powerful if not more so than an Epic Blaster ( Epic!Sans ). Jury Blasters are the serious version of Judge's blasters, which he does not use unless he feels he has too or is in a manic state of uncontrollable rage.
- Teleportation: Like most Sanses he can instantly teleport. As if moving between frames, he can blip and he is gone.
- Justice Chains: After judge escaped his world, he found himself able to create yellow magical chains. These chains are as strong as judge pours his energy into them, and when touching a being with a soul, makes them feel heavy, and limits their mobility. They bind the very soul, and on more than one occasion Judge has used them to pull souls from bodies, however he doesn't often do so as he considers it "cheating." He often also uses them to catch projectiles, swing, whip, or even to wrap around blasters and use them as a wrecking ball.
- Multiversal Portal: Judge can use his soul powered energy to open a circular portal, that goes to wherever judge knows. The portal can only go somewhere Judge has been, knows where it is, or by random. The portal itself does not need a specific location for entry, as he can open it based on himself rather than his current location. However, he needs a specific exit location, or he risks falling into the void on accident.
- True Judgement: Judge Sans has the ability to see stats, kill count, and exact names of those killed, by a mere glance. His "Justice Vision" per say. However, this goes a step further if he has access to someones soul. By wrapping his chains around someones soul, he can use his power to see into their soul. He can see their past, their emotions, their tendencies, their wants, aspirations. What he can truely see is who you are as a person. While he does get to see the nuances of a person, what only ever matters to him is if you are a murderer, and if you are, are you willing to change.
Relationships[]
Mix!Sans[]
On one of Judge Sans's many escapades, he found himself in a broken and corrupted timeline, dubbed "A Fatal Mixup." He met a tall and pleasant skeleton monster, who went by the name Mix. A corrupted fusion of Gaster, Asgore, and Sans. Judge had no reason to stay, so he didn't, however he did enjoy his time, and was somehow convinced to return for tea at a later date.
Bandit!Sans[]
Judge Sans's many adventures in other worlds, had led him to a strange place called BanditTale. A world in which the human and monster world led a group of humans and all the monsters to elope to a mountain far far away, where they terraformed the mountain into a giant city. The place was then ruled in the shadows by a series of Underground gangs, mercenaries, and mafia bosses. Bandit Sans, or just Bandit, a human in this world, had a substantial kill count, and thus was subject to Judge!Sans' attacks. While Bandit fought long and hard, it became irrelevant, as his chains were simply impossible to avoid forever. However, Bandit volunteered for true judgment. After he had been Judged, Judge let him go. Seeing he was truly a good person, who did not murder because he wanted to, but because he had too.
Ink!Sans[]
- Main article: Ink!Sans
Ink Sans likely wouldn't remember this interaction, however, in one of Judge Sans's many routine checks on nearby Dusttale AUs, he found a lone Ink. He did not know who he was, however he was determined to find out. Ink was watching the events of Dusttale take place. What made Judge even more curious, is his justice vision did not work on Ink. Ink not having a soul, meant he could not peer into him to see. Getting distracted from his main goal, Dust had been able to carry out his plan. Judge planned to intervene, but Ink stopped him. Claiming it was just the way the story was supposed to go, they fought about it. Judge found it unacceptable. However, Ink had been used to beings like him, as Judge fights similarly to Error, Judge could not beat him before he escaped. Judge does not like Ink.
Dust!Sans[]
- Main article: DustTale
Judge Sans routinely finds himself in many Dust AUs and ATs. Monsters or humans whom have a high kill count, find themselves under Judges slipper.
SoulDust Sans[]
SoulDust Sans and Judge are frenemies (Friend Enemies), as during the TOD creation & release of SoulDust: Redemption, Judge is a prominent character in the series. The series is based off a set of text based roleplay, which was decided later to actually be apart of SoulDust's official story. During the story, Judge antagonizes SoulDust through teasing and words, usually just trying to get a rise out of him, but it is revealed that despite his sarcastic and somewhat mean hearted nature, he does actually want to help, and even after doing a "True Judgment" on him, he tells SoulDust that he passes, as all that really matters to him is making sure he gets better and leaves his Dust ways behind.
M!Shattered Dream[]
M!Shattered Dream, is a variant of Shattered Dream who appears in SoulDust: Redemption. Judge, and M!SD have known each other since before that series, they only started to be more cordial to each other during it. M!SD is about as close as Judge has to a real friend, as he finds him fascinating, and likes to hang around his castle and poke and prod verbally at all the guests. He initially did so to M!SD, however as he was more resilient to it, he found himself to just enjoy his company. M!SD is an older being, who has been around for well over 100 years, so Judge finds a certain kinship with that fact.
Cover!Sans[]
One of the many places Judge has been too, was a placed called ColorTale. A world in which the only way to gain status was to kill humans, and in doing so, would grant the assailant the soul to merge with. Cover!Sans, a royal guard member with the Soul of Perseverance, Papyrus with the Soul of Justice, Undyne with Bravery, and so on. Themselves individually, had not killed enough for Judge to care, however, as most people would, they questioned his presence. Cover, getting the wrong idea about his Justice soul, thinking somehow he had stolen it from Papyrus, he fought him. Despite Judges century of experience, it could not help him for long against a trained royal guard with someone who had power equal to his own. Judge took the upper hand, but only for a moment, and he fled. This would be the start of his rule to not return to places he has been before.
Trivia[]
- Judge, despite his jokey and laid back personality, is actually incredibly smart. Judge does not pick fights he cant win, and will often hang around as more of just an annoyance rather than a threat instead of attacking if he believes he couldn't win. It is likely if he ever met Nightmare, he likely wouldn't fight him.
- Judge has never met Nightmare, but did meet dream once. However, he hates him. Judge hates the fact that dream makes people feel better when around him, he believes it removes their choice to be better on their own.
- Because you do not age outside of your universe, Judge has not visibly aged since he left. In real time if it was tracked, he has been Judging the multiverse and its residents for a little over 100 years. Despite this he does his best to stay off as many radars as he can, and generally doesn't go back to places he has been before.
- Judge's soul of justice, does have an Ego. A Ghost Clover, who floats around him, and will verbally assault him if he ever slacks off his job at any point. Ghost Clover does not have the ability to take over his body, as he was dead for too long. Judge is aware of his own mental state, and believes Clover is just a creation of his own mind made as a trauma response.
- Judge has a biased hatred of Charas and Frisks, due to the nature of his own universe, however he does a great job at hiding it, and you wouldn't be able to tell from the first conversation. There is only one Chara in the multiverse he does not hate, and it is LawShift Chara who takes his place. He views them as just another version of himself, rather than a variant of Chara.
- Judge loves and hates his own job. He decided because he has the power to Judge alternate universe residents, that he will. He mostly uses it as an excuse to kill, as he gets antsy if he doesn't do it, but he hates that he loves it, and if he could decide to stop, he could.
- Due to Judges various mental problems, he has manic rage episodes. The fact that the human doesn't just quit in nearly every universe it drives him up the wall, and if he thinks about it too much he will go into an uncontrollable rage
- Judge gives himself rules to stop himself from just killing everybody instantly, and tries to give people a chance to change. These rules usually are the reason he doesn't destroy the entire underground or rip souls out of bodies. However, if he gets angry enough, he will "cheat" which means he will use any means to kill his opponent.
- Judge while containing the power of a human soul, does not have a "Fanta mode" like Delta Sans. His full power form has been labeled "Manic" mode, in which he has a break down and goes all out, which he would only ever do if he has sustained enough damage, and is fighting someone who could just follow him if he ran.
- Judge has killed so many, over the course of his job, he hardly remembers all of them, and has forgotten how many he has even killed. It is likely it stretches potentially into the thousands
- Judge is originally from UnderLaw, which is only a little different from UnderTale, but Judge doesn't remember any of the details. He only remembers that his human quit. He does not even remember what his Papyrus was like
- Judge canonically doesn't have feelings for anyone, nor versions of himself. However, in an alternate universe/timeline in which he ever did, he would genuinely rather die than ever tell the person. His job is too important to him, and even if he slacks off, he would rather die first before abandoning it to do something else
