Purity is an Out!Code character created by Alteraverse King, and adopted by Zeno Dreemurr after its appearance in Undertale Psi. It is a light elemental that often takes the form of an Alphys. Weak, it uses its intelligence and technology to traverse the Multiverse. It has the goal of destroying every source of color in the Multiverse, even if it means destroying it all.

Biography[]

Purity is born in Puritytale, an AU that has been greatly influenced by the prominent existence of light elementals, called Sacred there, and darkness elementals, called Specters in this AU.

In this AU, all types of elementals partaked in the Human-Monster War. Being the most difficult beings to kill (except for a few minor exceptions), the Humans focused them. This affected the light elementals the most, leading to their near-extinction after the Human-Monster War, won by the Humans. Monster culture shifted in the Underground, as Monsters ended up praising Sacred and cursing Specters.

Purity is a descendant of one of the light elementals that had survived the Human-Monster War. Born in the Darkness (a place retreated far into the Underground, where a few Monsters go to praise the Sacred, which also serves as the home for both light and darkness elementals, that get along well together, even though darkness elementals hide themselves from the other Monsters), it watched some of the last living Sacred nearing their death. Having no one to learn from, it was proposed to go in the rest of the Underground to learn everything. Having to be discreet, it went in the garbage dump in Waterfall, where it mostly spied Alphys before the latter met Undyne, Mettaton and became the royal scientist. Alphys, who spent a lot of time talking about science to herself, unknowingly gave Purity an extreme liking of science, and a desire to study the idea of the existence of a greater Multiverse.

Purity went to live in Alphys's laboratory when she became the royal scientist, and used her devices to study sciences. As a light elemental, Purity became interested in the science of light, discovering the reasons of the existence of colors. This knowledge, and Alphys's liking for manga, that Purity would read when Alphys was busy in the laboratory (she's also known of Alphys's liking for anime, but it couldn't watch it), made it feel weird, and made them believe that light shouldn't work that way, and that it was more simple to only have white, grey and black. However, due to its liking for Alphys, Purity would accept yellow and its shades over any other color. It then left Alphys's laboratory, now having the goal of "purifying the world from its colors". It was also around this time that Purity began to use its shapeshifting ability to imitate the shapes of the inhabitants of its universe. Alphys was first, followed by Mettaton, Asgore and Undyne at the time.

Purity gathered a few Monsters thanks to its existence as a Sacred, as some believed that following Purity would be an honor and a mission, though there was no other Sacred in the "cult of purity". The mission of purging the world of colors was difficult, and as time passed, the origins of the mission became more and more forgotten in the cult, even for Purity itself, simply becoming the "purge of colors". Purity could remember slightly, but became more focused on the goal rather than the reason for it, becoming more extreme about it, yet its opinion about yellow and its liking for Alphys never changed, even getting to spy Alphys from time to time. At the same time, Purity began working on going into the greater Multiverse as often as it spied Alphys.

Eventually, Frisk fell in the Underground. Purity, having no rememberance of RESETs, lived in a pacifist timeline, where it was quickly told about Frisk and decided to follow them to learn more about Humanity. Frisk's journey was the same as in Undertale, with no difference, except that Purity was following them, learning to take the shapes of all the cast from Undertale (excluding Chara, Gaster, and everyone unique to hidden rooms or fun values, that didn't even exist as this was a codeless universe), and about the existence of RESETs as well. The existence of this pacifist timeline continued a long time after Asriel was beaten, and eventually, Purity succeeded in making a device to go in other universes. As a test, it immediately told the rest of the cult that they would be going into the greater Multiverse for a time, and did so.

Many RESETs happened during Purity's first time in the Multiverse, and when it came back unaffected, it saw the horror of a genocide route. It was far from being the first. In fact, there have been many. At this point, Frisk had located the Darkness, and even learned their ways into killing its inhabitants. Purity witnessed all that happen, and eventually fought Frisk. Thanks to many devices made along its first journey in the Multiverse, it killed Frisk. Knowing a LOAD or a RESET would happen, Purity quickly extracted Frisk's corpse and SOUL fragments outside the Puritytale universe. While Purity destroyed the SOUL fragments, the corpse was eventually used for Purity to make its first puppet.

It then continued to wonder in the Multiverse to attain its goal, never returning to its origin universe.

Profile[]

Appearance[]

In its original form, Purity is a small, white being with yellow hair on itself.

Its Alphys form is its most common form, in which it made its body look like an achromatic Alphys, though it look taller since it doesn't slouch. It has achromatic clothing, including a black-grey coat and trousers with a black shirt under the coat. It does not have shoes nor socks, and its eyeglasses hide its eyes entirely.

Personality[]

At first, Purity was a sad light elemental due to seeing the extinction of the rest of its species in its AU. However, this part of its mindset disappeared when it came into the rest of the Underground, which is still existent as it acts into the Multiverse.

Purity is a curious being that always makes sure to get more information about everything. It mostly studies science, though prioritizes anything that can be applied to its technology. It often thinks about finding new ways of making puppets. It also studies the life in the Multiverse, its people, and its culture since it believes that information is the power it can get. Due to the varied possibilities of allies and enemies, it cares a lot about whether a person or a universe is coded or codeless. Since it is smart, it can adapt itself to its discoveries and can improve its methods of researching the Multiverse. It usually keeps its information to itself and its allies unless an enemy or victim has no way to escape its death. It also keeps its existence a secret to the general public. In rare occasions, Purity uses its information to manipulate its enemies or victims.

Since light elementals are praised and called Sacred in its origin AU, and since it is smart, Purity is an arrogant person, though it doesn't show it to people that may kill him for it. It rarely hesitates to call out people for being stupid or useless, especially its allies. The more often it happens, the less brutal its insults become. It cares a lot about being treated the same way as in its AU, though it mostly shows it to strangers. It often calls itself a Sacred when answering questions about what it is and often feels insulted when people call it a light elemental. It also considers being a light elemental useful because of this. However, it does not have a disdain for darkness elementals and will defend them if they are treated poorly just for being made out of darkness.

Purity believes that the colors are a blasphemy to light and should not exist, which is why it has the goal of destroying every source of colors in the Multiverse. However, due to its liking of Alphyses, it does not hate yellow and its shades, to the point it may accept people that only or mostly feature yellow. As such, it doesn't desire to kill anyone or destroy any place that lacks colors, though it will not try to prevent such actions. It often gets disgusted by those that feature too many colors and will only look at them if necessary. It doesn't hesitate to speak its digust of colors. It admits by itself that its goal is very difficult to attain and may take a lot of time, yet is ready for it.

Knowing that it can't attain its goal alone and that it is weak, Purity makes many alliances. It prefers to choose powerful destroyers that will not try to prevent it from attaining its goals or kill it. It may choose other people since alliances are necessary for it. When it recruits for an alliance, it often speaks of the usefulness of its intelligence, or, if it has enough information, uses a specific methodology to get the person to be its ally. The reason it allies with some specific persons may not be obvious, usually because those are parts of bigger schemes. If someone wants to make an alliance with Purity instead, it hesitates and asks questions to the person to see if there's a reason to accept it. It will decline it if there is no point in it. Purity habitually makes its allies as achromatic as itself to become more capable of liking them. This is also done to its victims so it can bear them. It is very loyal to its allies and will never make an honest alliance with an enemy of one of its allies unless necessary. Purity is so loyal that it will always try to find its lost allies back, even if it means making other alliances for this sole goal. It likes to have a lot of allies but may choose a powerful one over multiple on a case-by-case basis. While it prefers to be an equal to its allies, Purity accepts the idea of working for someone as long as they actually help each-other, and accepts the idea of having people work directly under itself if it is necessary.

Purity can prove itself to be very deceptive. While it will never betray their true allies, Purity may make fake alliances to get information or technology, or simply wander through the Multiverse for the same reason. Purity accepts the idea that it may slow itself down and that it may not be fruitful enough, but does it anyway. When simply wandering, Purity may shapeshift to not be recognized as Purity, and is likely to use a fake name. However, when making a fake alliance to get information and technology, Purity will show many sides of its true personality, usually excluding those that may reveal its true goal. When making such alliances, it may even help their ally attain its true goal. Usually, is even keeps these alliances once it gets the technology, so nobody discovers their true intentions, and betrays only when it is optimal to do it. This is how Purity shows its talkative and patient side the best as well.

Purity has to use its intelligence, information and technology to make up for its weakness. Purity tends to look for a laboratory if it doesn't have one and makes sure to convince its allies that having one is necessary. It often makes many devices to help its allies, whether it may be for transportation, to attack enemies or to defend itself. Purity tries to make its technology very varied. It is not above stealing the devices or the blueprints of others but may be slow in the process since it is very careful to make sure it does not get noticed.

Purity accepts the idea of killing or torturing people very easily as long as it is not a problem for its plans, yet does not like it. It often makes bodily modifications on others for experiments and makes sure to have as many corpses as disponible to make puppets. It only helps for the torture if its allies desire it.

Purity rarely partakes in fights, and if it does so, usually takes care of the weakest enemies or of the ones that it believes it can beat. It doesn't fight by itself, instead using its anthropomorphical puppets to fight. They're often prepared and already placed around the Multiverse long before the fight even begins. Purity uses strategies to make its army fight efficiently. When someone kills one of its puppets, Purity often gives a judgmental speak about how they're killing people that were sentient beings before in hopes of confusing its enemies or to analyze their morality.

Purity likes to give names to everything, including places, persons and groups.

Abilities[]

  • Shapeshifting: Purity can shapeshift into a person it has seen before.
  • View of obscurity: Since it is a light elemental, Purity has the ability to view everything perfectly, even if it in a full darkness.
  • Color removal: Purity has specialized itself into this ability. It can remove the colors of anything, making whatever it wants achromatic.
  • Teleportation device: Purity has a device that allows to move from one place to the Multiverse to another. It scans a person to make it capable of being teleported by it. Purity can then choose who is teleported, person by person. It creates a field of teleportation, when activated. Then, the persons are teleported to the place Purity thinks about.
  • Command: Purity can make white, anthropomorphical puppets out of wood, stone, iron, or corpses. It prefers corpses to do it. It can then place whatever the puppet is made of inside the puppet body, adding receptors to communicate with them, and give them orders. They can be placed at various places without getting noticed. They awaken when Purity commands them, and obey to it.

Relationships[]

Purity!Frisk[]

Purity observed the Frisk of its AU in its origin timeline, but became its enemy in the genocide route. Eventually, Purity made its Frisk its first puppet, though it has been destroyed during its travels in the Multiverse.
