Vandalism is one of the more serious offenses, and can be one of the quickest ways to a ban.
Some basic things defined as vandalism:
- Removing large amounts of stuff without a given reason.
- This includes blanking pages. Blanking pages will result in an instant ban of 6 Months or more.
- Changing or removing the facts of an article.
- Doing unwarranted edits to pages with a Template:DontEdit on it.
- NOTE: For the sake of the wiki, Administrators and Content Moderators can still edit any page marked with the DontEdit template, and all non-content-moderators can do so if they see rule-breaking content on the page, editing with the goal of improving the article in any way.
- Undoing a constructive edit without a good reason.
- Moving pages from one name to another; this includes moving a page from one namespace to another.
- Replacing a core file with one of your own just because you want your file to have the same name. This will result in an instant ban.
Undoing edits[]
Undoing edits without a good reason can quickly lead to a fight (known as an "edit war"), so it is a good idea to discuss beforehand.
Admins and other staff always get the final say as to what happens, and this can only be overturned by a court decision.
Repeated edit warring can get you banned.
Template Removal[]
Removing templates is among the gravest offenses one can commit on this wiki. Most templates may only be removed by authorized users, being Administrators and Content Moderators. Any other user who removes the templates below can face as harsh of a punishment as article deletion and a ban lasting no more than three months. To have these templates removed, contact an Administrator or Content Moderator and explain your case. If the authorized user agrees that the template should be removed, they'll either remove it themselves or give you permission to remove it.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Removing the following templates is only rule-breaking if they were added by an Administrator or Content Moderator. If they were added by anybody else, removing them is not a qualification for a ban. The only exception to this is Infobox OC.
- Character-centered AU — Only if the article on the UTAUWiki still exists.
- Greater AU — Only if the article on the UTAUWiki still exists.
